LOCATION - Lat 32°39'08", long 116°51'24" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, San Diego County, CA, Hydrologic Unit 18070304, 0.08 mi south of Otay Lakes Road, on Thousand Trails Campground Property, and 4.5 mi southeast of Jamul.
CLIMATOLOGICAL RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - October 2004 to current year.
INSTRUMENTATION - Instrumentation consists of a Design Analysis H-340 tipping bucket raingage, connected to a Design Analysis H-522+ data logger/GOES transmitter (DCP). All equipment is housed in a steel 32"X19"X19" enclosure. Power is by a 12V battery with solar panal recharge. San Diego County Water Authority has a Design Analysis Alert gage within the gage house.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum daily rainfall, 3.14 in., Oct. 20, 2004; no rainfall for many days each year.
