GAGE - Satellite telemetry with a water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is 865.57 feet above North American Vertical Datum (NAVD) of 1988 (levels by Georgia Department of Transportation.
COOPERATION - Cherokee County Water and Sewer Authority.
REMARKS - Gage-height records are generally fair. Discharge records are generally fair except for estimated discharges, which are poor. EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge, 16,600 cfs, September 21, 2009, from rating curve extension above 520 cfs on basis of contracted-opening measurement of peak flow; maximum gage height recorded, 23.90 feet, September 21, 2009; minimum daily discharge, 0.01 cfs, on numerous days in 2008.
