LOCATION - Lat 40°39'28", long 96°39'56" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, in NW 1/4 SW 1/4 sec.17, T.8 N., R.7 E., Lancaster County, NE, Hydrologic Unit 10200203, on left bank just upstream of bridge at west edge of Roca, and at mile 54.2.
DRAINAGE AREA - 167 mi².
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - May 1951 to current year.
REVISED RECORDS - WDR NE-71-1: Drainage area.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder with satellite telemetry. Datum of gage is 1,192.50 ft above sea level, Kansas City supplementary adjustment of 1943. Prior to May 16, 1956, nonrecording gage at present site and datum. Mar. 18, 2002 to Mar. 26, 2003, at location 0.7 mi upstream at present datum.
REMARKS - Accuracy of records for water years prior to 2014 are noted in the individual Annual Data Reports for those water years. For water years 2014 onward, records good except for estimated daily discharges, which are poor, unless otherwise noted. Flood flow affected by several detention dams.
EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD - A stage of 26.0 ft, from floodmark established by USACE, discharge 67,000 ft³/s, occurred on May 8, 1950. This peak may have been exceeded by flood of July 5, 1908.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum peak flow, 16,700 ft³/s, July 10, 1958, gage height, 22.70 ft, datum then in use.
