LOCATION - Lat 40°48'17.8", long 96°41'06.3" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, in sec.25, T.10 N., R.6 E., Lancaster County, NE, Hydrologic Unit 10200203, on downstream side of pedestrian bridge upstream of the Randolph Street bridge in Lincoln.
DRAINAGE AREA - 10.6 mi².
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - October 1956 to September 1978 (annual maximums only). March 2012 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder with satellite telemetry. Datum of gage is 1,148.82 ft above North American Vertical Datum of 1988. From October 1956 to September 1978, datum of gage was 1,155.69 ft above National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929 at location 0.2 mi upstream.
REMARKS - Accuracy of records for water years prior to 2014 are noted in the individual Annual Data Reports for those water years. For water years 2014 onward, records fair to poor except for estimated daily discharges, which are poor, unless otherwise noted. Natural flow of stream affected by storage in Holmes Lake, and downstream regulation.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum peak flow, 2,570 ft³/s, July 10, 1958, gage height, 12.85 ft, site and datum then in use. Since March 2012: Maximum discharge, 2,280 ft³/s, July 7, 2016, gage height, 12.38 ft; maximum gage height, 13.20 ft, October 1, 2014, discharge, 1,070 ft³/s, discharge affected by regulation or diversion.
