    gage photoLOCATION. --Lat 40°50'42", long 74°14'08" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Cedar Grove Township, Essex County, NJ, Hydrologic Unit 02030103, on right downstream wingwall of bridge on Ozone Avenue in Verona, 4.0 mi west of Clifton and 1.0 mi southwest of Cedar Grove Reservoir.
    DRAINAGE AREA. --4.45 mi2.
    PERIOD OF RECORD. --Annual maximum, water years 1945, 1979 to current year. Miscellaneous and occasional low-flow measurements, water years 1945, 1979-81, 1985 to 2006.
    GAGE. --Water-stage recorder and crest-stage gage. Datum of gage is 300.08 ft above NGVD of 1929. Sewage effluent enters stream just upstream of gage causing diurnal flucuations in stage. This gage is operated for flood warning purposes and discharges are only determined for peak flows.
    EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD. --Maximum discharge, 3,800 ft3/s (determined at Bradford Avenue, 0.2 mi downstream of gage, adjusted for change in drainage area), Jul 23, 1945, gage height, not determined.
    COOPERATION. --Funding for this gage is provided by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New York District, Passaic Flood Warning System.
