NOTICE: This gaging station, as well as 7 other gaging stations and 2 water-quality monitors in the Barnegat Bay watershed, were discontinued on October 1, 2014, due to lack of funding. The gages were installed in 2011 as part of the Barnegat Bay Flow and Water-Quality Monitoring Program funded by New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection and USGS which will conclude on September 30, 2014.
LOCATION.--Lat 40°04'59", long 74°10'47" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Lakewood Township, Ocean County, NJ, Hydrologic Unit 02040301, on downstream side of New Hampshire Avenue bridge, 0.5 mi downstream of Lake Shenandoah, 2 mi south east of town of Lakewood, and 2 mi east of Lake Carasaljo.
DRAINAGE AREA.--29.5 mi2.
PERIOD OF RECORD.--June 2011 to current year.
GAGE.--Water-stage recorder, staff gage, and crest stage gage.
COOPERATION.--Funding for this gage is provided by the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection.
