    NOTICE: This gaging station, as well as 9 other gaging stations and 2 water-quality monitors in the Barnegat Bay watershed, will be discontinued on October 1, 2014, due to lack of funding. The gages were installed in 2011 as part of the Barnegat Bay Flow and Water-Quality Monitoring Program funded by New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection and USGS which will conclude on September 30, 2014.

    LOCATION.--Lat 39°41'43", long 74°15'35" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Strafford Township, Ocean County, NJ, Hydrologic Unit 02040301, on upstream side of bridge on West Bay Avenue 240 ft downstream of Manahawkin Lake, 0.2 mi southwest of Manahawkin, and 2.4 mi northwest of Beach Haven West.

    DRAINAGE AREA.--20.40 mi2.

    PERIOD OF RECORD.--May 2011 to current year.

    GAGE.--Water-stage recorder, staff gage, and crest stage gage. Datum of gage is 12.87 ft NAVD 88.

    COOPERATION.--Funding for this gage is provided by the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection.
