USGS 10123500 DEVIL CREEK NR MALAD CITY ID

LOCATION.--Lat 42° 13', long 112° 17' (NAD27), in sec.8, T.14 S., R.36 E., Oneida County, Malad City West quad., Hydrologic Unit 16010204, 400 ft downstream from dam site for proposed reservoir (1941), 0.5 mi northeast of St John, 2.5 mi northwest of Malad City, and 9 mi upstream from mouth.

DRAINAGE AREA.--39.8 mi2, revised.

PERIOD OF RECORD.--October 1931 to December 1940 (discontinued).

GAGE.--Staff gage and wooden weir with Cippoletti notch. Elevation of gage is 4,695 ft above sea level, from river-profile survey. Prior to Oct. 10, 1936, staff gage and weir at site 180 ft downstream at different datum. Supplemental staff gage 180 ft upstream at different datum used for periods during 1936 and 1937.

REMARKS.--Several small diversions for irrigation above station. Flow regulated by Evans dividers (an irrigation diversion works) 3 mi above station. (see Remarks for station above Campbell Creek (station 10122500).

EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD.--Maximum discharge, 60 ft3/s Aug. 17, 1936, gage height, 2.35 ft, on supplemental gage, from floodmark, from rating curve extended above 30 ft3/s; minimum discharge observed, 0.5 ft3/s Sept. 10, 1934.
