USGS 12311000 DEEP CREEK AT MORAVIA ID

LOCATION.--Lat 48° 37'49", long 116° 23'10" (NAD27), in NE1/4 NE1/4 NW1/4 sec. 19, T.61 N., R.1 E., Boundary County, Moravia quad., Hydrologic Unit 17010104, 50 ft downstream from highway bridge, 1 mi downstream from Ruby Creek, 1 mi southwest of Moravia, and at mile 6.1.

DRAINAGE AREA.--131.8 mi2, revised.

PERIOD OF RECORD.--May 1928 to September 1971 (discontinued). Monthly discharge only for some periods, published in WSP 1316.

GAGE.--Water-stage recorder. Elevation of gage is 1,800.00 ft above mean sea level, from topographic map. May 1928 to Sept. 19, 1959, nonrecording gages 50 ft upstream. Prior to Aug. 2, 1949, at datum 2.00 ft higher.

REMARKS.--Small diversions above station for irrigation. Occasional regulation above station at migratory waterfowl refuge near Elmira.

EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD.--Maximum discharge, 1,670 ft/s May 18, 1954, gage height, 7.54 ft, from graph based on gage readings; maximum gage height, 7.54 ft, May 4, 1971; minimum discharge observed, 5 ft/s Aug. 14, 22, 1940.

EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD.--Maximum discharge, 4,400 ft3/s Jan. 15, 1974, gage height, 9.00 ft, from indirect measurement (not previously published.
