LOCATION.--Lat 43° 09'50", long 111° 03'50" (NAD27), in sec.16, T.3 S., R.46 E., Bonneville County, Alpine (ID,WY) quad., Hydrologic Unit 17040105, on left bank 350 ft upstream from highway bridge (1955), 400 ft downstream from Trout Creek, 0.5 mi upstream from mouth, and 0.75 mi west of WY/ID state line.
DRAINAGE AREA.--890 mi2.
PERIOD OF RECORD.--October 1933 to September 1955 (discontinued). Monthly discharge only for some periods, published in WSP 1317.
GAGE.--Water-stage recorder. Elevation of gage is 5,580 ft above NGVD of 1929, from topographic map.
REMARKS.--Some diurnal fluctuation at low flow caused by many small powerplants on tributaries. Water rights totaling 960.63 ft3/s (1886-1942) for irrigation of about 66,000 acres, 471.10 ft3/s (1889-1942) for industry and power, and 7.18 ft3/s (1887-1941) for domestic and municipal supply, adjudicated by Wyoming for diversion above station. Two small reservoirs above station for power and fish culture (total adjudication, 52.22 acre-ft per year).
