LOCATION.--Lat 42° 40'15", long 113° 29'00" (NAD27), near center of sec.1, T.9 S., R.25 E., Minidoka County, Lake Walcott West quad., Hydrologic Unit 17040209, on south wall in powerhouse at Minidoka Dam on Snake River, 6 mi southeast of Minidoka, and at mile 675.0.
DRAINAGE AREA.--15,700 mi2, approximately, excluding indeterminate nontributary area on Snake River Plain.
PERIOD OF RECORD.--April 1909 to September 1917 (gage heights only), October 1917 to September 1979, October 1984 to September 1996 (discontinued).
GAGE.--Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is U.S. Bureau of Reclamation datum, which is 49.52 ft lower than sea level.
REMARKS.--Reservoir is formed by rock-fill dam with concrete core. Storage began in 1906; capacity 107,240 acre-ft between elevations 4,236.00 ft, sill of powerhouse penstock, and 4,246.00 ft, top of flashboards. Dead storage below elevation 4,236.00 ft, about 115,000 acre-ft. Water used for power development and irrigation of Minidoka project of U.S. Bureau of Reclamation. Contents given herin are above elevation 4,236.00 ft. Note: Negative figures indicated storage necessary to fill reservoir to sill of powerhouse.
