USGS 13171000 BRUNEAU RIVER NR GRAND VIEW ID

LOCATION.--Lat 42° 56'29", long 115° 56'40"(Rev.)(NAD83), in SE1/4 sec.35, T.5 S., R.4 E., Owyhee County, C.J. Strike Dam quad., Hydrologic Unit 17050102, on left bank 0.8 mi downstream from diversion dam for Grand View Canal, 1 mi upstream from mouth and 8.5 mi southeast of Grand View.

DRAINAGE AREA.--2,650 mi2, approximately.

PERIOD OF RECORD.--January 1895 to December 1903 (gage heights only January 1900 to December 1903), May 1909 to September 1916, December 1944 to October 1949, (discontinued).

GAGE.--Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is 2,372.3 ft above NGVD of 1929, (from stadia level circuit by Topographic Branch in 1945). Prior to Dec. 22, 1944, staff gages at several sites 2,000 ft upstream at different datums.

REMARKS.--Diversions above station for irrigation of about 21,900 acres. Site inundated by C.J. Strike Reservoir starting in 1952.

EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD.--Maximum discharge, 5,700 ft3/s Mar. 2, 1910, gage height, 10.1 ft, from floodmark, site and datum then in use, from rating curve extended above 1,200 ft3/s; minimum discharge, 0.9 ft3/s Sept. 30, Oct. 7-9, 1947; minimum gage height, 0.42 ft Sept. 3, 4, 1947.
