USGS 13264500 CRANE CREEK NR MIDVALE ID

LOCATION.--Lat 44° 21'20", long 116° 37'03" (NAD27), in SE1/4 sec.19, T.12 N., R.2 W., Washington County, Crane Creek Reservoir quad., Hydrologic Unit 17050124, on left bank 400 ft downstream from Crane Creek Dam, 9.5 mi southeast of Midvale, and at mile 12.4.

DRAINAGE AREA.--234 mi2, revised.

PERIOD OF RECORD.--October 1910 to September 1911, January 1912 to September 1915, January to April 1916, May 1924 to October 1969 (discontinued).

REVISED RECORDS.--WSP 833: Drainage area. WSP 963: 1941(M). WSP 1347: 1925, 1927. WSP 1737: 1911(M).

GAGE.--Water-stage recorder and concrete control. Elevation of gage is 3,140 ft, by barometer. May 1, 1924 to Dec. 7, 1952, on right bank at datum 1.54 ft higher. Oct. 30, 1910 to May 8, 1916, nonrecording gage at site 100 ft upstream at different datum.

REMARKS.--Flow regulated since 1911 by Crane Creek Reservoir 0.1 mi upstream (sta 13264000). No large diversion above station.

EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD.--Maximum discharge observed (prior to regulation), 4,750 ft3/s Dec. 3, 1910, gage height, 9.4 ft, from floodmark, site and datum then in use, from rating curve extended above 3,500 ft3/s; Maximum discharge observed since regulation began, 1,370 ft3/s Mar. 30, 31, Apr. 1, 1913, gage height, 6.1 ft, site and datum then in use; no flow at times in many years when gates in dam were closed.
