STATION.--03028500 CLARION RIVER AT JOHNSONBURG, PA
LOCATION.--Lat 41`29'10", long 78`40'43", Elk County, Hydrologic Unit 05010005, on left bank at downstream side of highway bridge at Johnsonburg, 0.1 mi downstream from Johnson Run, and 0.4 mi downstream from confluence of East and West Branches.
DRAINAGE AREA.--204 mi2.
PERIOD OF RECORD.--October 1945 to current year.
GAGE.--Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is 1,423.03 ft above sea level. Prior to Nov. 8, 1951, nonrecording gage at same site and datum.
REMARKS.--Flow regulated since June 1952 by East Branch Clarion River Lake 7.9 mi upstream and at low flow by industrial plants above station. U.S. Army Corps of Engineers satellite telemeter at station. Daily discharge not available.
EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD.--Flood in July 1942 reached a stage of 16.7 ft, from floodmark.
FLOOD STAGE.--NOAA, National Weather Service river forecast station flood stage provided to USGS April 1999 is 7 feet.
