NOTICE: This gaging station can no longer be operated at this location. This station was discontinued on August 27, 2011. On March 7, 2012, a new gage was installed to replace this gage. Data for the new gage located upstream on Rockaway River at Main Street, at Boonton, NJ (01380450) is available at this link.
National Weather Service flood stage for this gage is 5 feet. Effective Dec. 17, 2004 the stage sensor has been replaced and relocated resulting in recorded stages about 0.5 feet higher than before.
The air temperature data for this station are temporary and will only be displayed for 120 days. Although the instrumentation is calibrated at least once/year, the temporary classification means that documented routine inspections and other quality assurance measures are not performed that would make the data acceptable for archival, retrieval, or future use in general scientific or interpretive studies.
