LOCATION - Lat 34°22'23", long 86°56'01" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Morgan County, AL, Hydrologic Unit 06030002, near left bank on downstream side of bridge on county road 55, 1.2 miles downstream from Robinson Creek, 1.5 mile west of Falkville, and 2.8 miles upstream from Cedar Creek.
DRAINAGE AREA - 86.3 mi².
REVISIONS HISTORY - WSP 1556: 1953-57.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - July 1952 to September 1970, October 1970 to September 1973(flood hydrograph), October 1992 to September 1999, October 2011 to current year.

Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is 572.60 ft above NAVD of 1988, (Reference Frame NAD_83 (2011) (EPOCH:2020.0000) GEOID18).

Prior to December 7, 2023, the datum of gage was 572.59 ft above NGVD of 1929. 

REMARKS - Record is rated fair, except discharge below 50 ft³/s, which is rated poor. Lowest daily mean of zero flow occurred many times during the period of record. Annual seven-day minimum of zero flow occurred several times during the period of record.
EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD - Flood of December 23, 1990 reached a stage of 19.28 ft, discharge not determined.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge, 15,800 ft³/s, December 26, 2015, gage height, 17.04 ft; minimum discharge, 0.00 ft³/s, several days, 1995 water year,  1998 water year, 1999 water year, 2000 water year, and 2016 water year.
