LOCATION - Lat 35°21'22.41", long 85°58'44.61" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Coffee County, TN, Hydrologic Unit 06030003, upstream side of bridge on Millers Crossroads Rd., 1.1 mi. northwest of Prairie Plains, 3.6 mi. upstream from Elk River.
DRAINAGE AREA - 41.3 mi².
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - October 1951 to November 1959, water year 1960 (annual maximum only). October 1960 to September 1983, crest-stage partial record station. December 2003 to current year.
GAGE - Data collection platform, radar stage sensor, and permanent-record rain gage.  Datum of gage is 968.36 ft above NAVD of 1988, (Reference Frame NAD_83 (2011) (EPOCH:2010.0000) GEOID18). 

Prior to May 21, 2024, the datum of gage was 968.15 ft NAVD of 1988.

Prior to September 2016, the datum of gage was 968.13 ft NGVD of 1929.

EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge, 5,660 ft³/s, March 17, 1973, gage height 14.46 ft; minimum daily mean, .27 ft³/s, September 28, 2007.
CLIMATOLOGICAL RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - Oct.1, 2012 to current year.
INSTRUMENTATION - Tipping bucket rain gage, unheated and not equipped with a wind shield. Top of funnel is approximately 4.5 ft. above the ground.
REMARKS - Precipitation data collected during freezing period which may not accurately reflect daily record.
