LOCATION - Lat 36°21'11", long 89°24'22" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Lake County, TN, Hydrologic Unit 08010202,

at state park bridge crossing old outflow channel above old spillway, 100 ft. upstream of the old spillway, 0.2 mi northeast of the new spillway, and 4 mi southeast of Tiptonville.

 

DRAINAGE AREA - 240 mi².

SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - July 1940 to current year.
GAGE - Data collection platform. Datum of gage is 270.11 ft above NGVD 1988. Prior to Oct. 1, 2013 datum of gage is 270.22 ft above NGVD of 1929 based on Benchmark E-13, supplementary adjustment of 1958.
REMARKS - Records are generally considered good, 
EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD - Flood of January 1937 reached a stage of about 17.0 ft, at spillway, present datum, from information by local resident. Minimum stage at spillway, 9.30 ft, Nov. 20, 21, 1953 at a datum of 270.29 ft above sea level.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum gage height, 15.74 ft, from recorded range in stage, May 4, 2011; minimum, 9.59 ft, July 6, 7, 8, 1985, datum then is use.
CLIMATOLOGICAL RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - Temporary data collected from May 2004 to Sept. 2012. Permanent data collection beginning in October 2012 and discontinued November 6, 2019.
