LOCATION - Lat 34°56'30", long 88°47'15" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Alcorn County, MS, Hydrologic Unit 08010207, in NW 1/4 NW 1/4 sec 4, T.2S, R.5E, ____ Meridian on right abutment at downstream side of Hwy 72, about 6 miles east of Walnut, MS.
DRAINAGE AREA - 274 mi².
REVISIONS HISTORY - Discharge for the period Apr 5, to Ju 09, 2022, was revised on Nov 28, 2022, based on changes to the stage-discharge rating.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - December 17, 1946 - December 30, 1946 operated as a stage-only gage. From January 1, 1947 - September 30, 1981 and October 2012 - current year operated as a daily discharge site. October 1981 - September 2012 miscellaneous discharge measurements made.
GAGE -

Water Stage Recorder.  The Datum of gage is 379.83 ft above NAVD of 1988, (Reference Frame NAD-83 (2011) (EPOCH:2010.0000), GEOID18).

Prior to May 24, 2023 datum of gage was 372.79 ft above NGVD29 determined from a topographic map.

Maximum discharge, 29,200 ft³/s, March 22, 1955, gage height 30.70 ft.; minimum daily discharge 17.8 ft³/s, October 30, 2012.
