07030240 LOOSAHATCHIE RIVER NEAR ARLINGTON, TN
LOCATION - Lat 35°18'39.11", long 89°38'22.13" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Shelby County, TN, Hydrologic Unit 08010209, on downstream side of bridge on U.S. Highways 70 and 79, 1.5 mi upstream from Beaver Creek, 1.5 mi northeast of Arlington, and at mile 30.4.
DRAINAGE AREA - 262 mi².
REVISIONS HISTORY - In the summary statistics section of the report for 2011 http://wdr.water.usgs.gov/wy2011/pdfs/07030240.2011.pdf , the Water Year 2011 lowest daily mean (86 ft³/s on Sep. 2) was incorrectly flagged as also occurring on Aug. 29. The instantaneous low flow for Water Years 1970-2011 was incorrectly listed as 66 ft³/s on Apr. 6, 1974. The instantaneous low flow for that period should have been reported as 67 ft³/s on Nov. 5, 1982 which is the minimum observed value.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - October 1969 to April 29, 2016. August 26, 2019 to current year. Record was temporarily discontinued due to bridge construction.
GAGE -

Data collection platform.  Datum of gage is 246.43 ft above NAVD of 1988, (Reference Frame NAD_83 (2011) (EPOCH:2010.0000) GEOID18).

Prior to May 25, 2023.  the datum of the gage was 246.463 ft above NGVD 1929.

REMARKS - Records generally rated fair. 
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge 26,000 ft³/s, May 2, 2010; maximum gage height, 25.44 ft., May 2, 2010; minimum observed flow, 67 ft³/s, November 5, 1982.
CLIMATOLOGICAL RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - Permanent data collected from Sept. 21 , 2012 to April 29, 2016. August 26, 2019 to current year. Record was temporarily discontinued due to bridge construction.
INSTRUMENTATION - Standard 8 inch tipping bucket rain gage, without a heater. The top of the collection funnel is 4 feet above the ground surface and is not equipped with a wind shield.
REMARKS - Precipitation data collected during freezing period which may not accurately reflect daily record. The National Weather Service collects additional weather data (wind speed and direction, air temperature, and dew point) at this site which are not quality assured or processed by the USGS.
