LOCATION - Lat 35°30'21", long 93°10'53" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, in SE 1/4 NW 1/4 sec.25, T.10 N., R.21 W., Pope County, AR, Hydrologic Unit 11110202, on right bank 11.9 mi downstream from Indian Creek, 7.2 mi north of Dover, and at river mile 23.3.
DRAINAGE AREA - 306 mi².
REVISIONS HISTORY - WDR Arkansas 1972: 1949 (M), 1953 (M), 1957 (M), 1961 (M), 1966 (M), 1968 to 1969 (M).
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - Operated as a continuous-record station Oct 1950 to Sep 1995 and Oct 1998 to current year. Operated as a partial-record station (annual maximum only) Oct 1995 to Sep 1998. Prior to Oct 1992, located 4.7 miles upstream at different datum and published as "07257000 Big Piney Creek near Dover." Prior to Oct 1967, published as "07257000 Piney Creek near Dover."

Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is 439.79 ft above NAVD of 1988, (Reference Frame NAD_83 (2011) (EPOCH:2010.0000), (GEOID18).

Prior to August 10, 2022, the Datum of gage was 439.75 ft above NGVD of 1929.

EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge 111,000 ft³/s Dec 3, 1982, from rating curve extended above 45,000 ft³/s on basis of contracted-opening measurement of peak flow. Maximum peak stage 33.87 ft Dec 3, 1982, at former site and datum
