LOCATION - Lat 34°34'04", long 92°36'37" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, in SW 1/4 NE 1/4 sec.09, T.2 S., R.15 W., Saline County, AR, Hydrologic Unit 08040203, on left bank 0.75 mi west of Benton, 3 mi downstream from confluence of North Fork and Alum Fork, and at river mile 198.1.
DRAINAGE AREA - 550 mi².

PERIOD OF RECORD - Oct 1950 to Sep 1979, Oct 1983 to Sep 1984, and Oct 2000 to current year. Annual maximum 1980 to 2000. Gage height records collected at site 0.4 mi downstream since Jul 1938 are contained in reports of National Weather Service.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder. Datum of Gage is 260.68 ft above NAVD 88 (Reference Frame NAD_83 (2011) (EPOCH:2010.0000), GEOID18). Prior to December 5, 2022, the Datum of gage was 260.91 ft above NGVD of 1929. Jul 1938 to Jul 1948 and Feb to Mar 1950, nonrecording gage; Jul 1948 to Feb 1950 and Mar 1950 to Jul 1950, water-stage recorder, at site 0.4 mi downstream at datum 3.0 ft lower.
EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD - Flood of Apr 1927 reached a stage of about 32.0 ft, at former site and datum (from information by Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department), or about 30.5 ft, at present site and datum, discharge, about 110,000 ft³/s.
