10259050 Palm Canyon Wash near Cathedral City, CA
LOCATION - Lat 33°47'50", long 116°28'52" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in SW 1/4 NE 1/4 sec.29, T.4 S., R.5 E., Riverside County, CA, Hydrologic Unit 18100201, on right bank, 10 ft upstream from Golf Club Drive, 0.5 mi upstream from Whitewater River, and 1.5 mi northeast of Cathedral City.
DRAINAGE AREA - 139 mi².  
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - January 1988 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder and concrete control. Datum of gage is 302.52 feet above NAVD of 1988. Prior to Nov. 20, 2007, at site 0.1 mi upstream at different datum.
REMARKS - No regulation upstream from station. Two diversions for domestic use upstream from station on Andreas Creek. See schematic diagram of Salton Sea Basin available from the California Water Science Center.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge, 8,280 ft³/s, Jan. 16, 1993, gage height, 8.70 ft, from rating curve extended above 1,350 ft³/s, maximum gage height, 9.46 ft, Jan. 11, 2005; no flow for most of each year.
