10338400 Donner Lake near Truckee, CA
LOCATION - Lat 39°19'30", long 120°16'53" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in SE 1/4 NW 1/4 sec.14, T.17 N., R.15 E., Nevada County, CA, Hydrologic Unit 16050102, on north shore, 2.5 mi upstream from outlet gates, and 4.9 mi west of Truckee.
DRAINAGE AREA - 14 mi².
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - January 1989 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is 5,904.15 ft above NAVD of 1988.
REMARKS - Lake levels regulated by a concrete dam at the outlet constructed in 1928. Contents based on capacity table dated August, 1980. Usable capacity, 9,490 acre-ft, between elevations 5,923.8 ft and 5,935.8 ft, maximum storage level. Water is used for irrigation and power development downstream. Records, including extremes, represent usable contents at 2400 hours. See schematic diagram of Truckee River Basin available from the California Water Science Center.
