LOCATION - Lat 34°26'26", long 119°42'39" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in sec.09, T.4 N., R.27 W., Santa Barbara County, CA, Hydrologic Unit 18060013, in Pueblo Lands of Santa Barbara Grant, on right bank, 75 ft upstream from bridge on Los Olivos Street, 150 ft southeast of entrance to Rocky Nook Park, approximately 0.20 mi north-northeast of Santa Barbara Mission, in Santa Barbara.
DRAINAGE AREA - 6.60 mi².
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - October 1983 to September 1986, October 1997 to September 2021, October 2021 to current year (stage only). WATER TEMPERATURE: Water years 1984-86. SEDIMENT DATA: Water years 1984-86.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder and crest-stage gage. Datum of gage is 315.65 ft above NAVD of 1988.
REMARKS - At times water is released to creek for ground-water recharge from Gilbraltar Reservoir through Mission Tunnel several miles upstream.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge, 1,170 ft³/s, February 17, 2017, gage height, 10.02 ft, from rating curve extended above 838 ft³/s, maximum gage height, 11.12 ft, Jan. 9, 2023, (CSG) site and datum then in use; no flow at times in past years.
