LOCATION - Lat 36°28'29.50", long 121°43'44" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, in sec.00, T.17 S., R.2 E., Monterey County, CA, Hydrologic Unit 18060006, in Los Laureles Grant, on right bank, downstream side of Esquiline Road bridge (Rosie's Bridge), 0.20 mi south of East Carmel Valley Road, 0.42 mi northeast of Robles Del Rio, and 11 mi southeast of Carmel.
DRAINAGE AREA - 193 mi².

EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD - Flood of Dec. 23, 1955, reached a stage of 11.7 ft, from floodmarks at site then in use, discharge, 6,930 ft³/s, from slope-area measurement of peak flow. Flood report noted as "Carmel River at Carmel Valley, CA".
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge, 16,000 ft³/s, Mar. 10, 1995, gage height, 12.90 ft; no flow at times in some years.
