Click to hide Water-Year Summary instructions and information
  • Water-Year Summary reports summarize a year of hydrologic data in a printer-friendly format.
  • For water years 2014 onward, choose a water year and parameter and an on-demand Water-Year Summary report will be generated.
  • For water years 2006 through 2013, choose a water year and an Annual Water Data Report will be provided.
  • For water years 2005 and earlier, Annual Water Data Reports may be available in digital format.
  • Not all sites have reports available for every water year.

USGS Water-Year Summary 2024
351113089513401 SH:Q-186
Mississippi embayment aquifer system
Memphis Sand
LOCATION - Lat 35°11'13.3", long 89°51'33.8" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Shelby County, TN, Hydrologic Unit 08010210, approximately 0.25 miles northwest of McCord Pumping Station and approximately 0.15 miles northwest of aerators. Owner: Memphis Light, Gas and Water Division, City of Memphis.
GROUNDWATER RECORDS
WELL CHARACTERISTICS - Depth 624 ft. Upper casing diameter 30 in; top of first opening 520 ft, bottom of last opening 624 ft.
DATUM - Land-surface datum is 320 ft above National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929. Measuring point: Undefined. This turbine pumped well water level can only be measured by way of airline. The airline length is 225 ft. and the measuring point (mp) is at the airline gauge which is 2.10 ft. above land surface.
GAGE - A YSI EXO water quality monitoring meter provide temperature, specific conductance, dissolved oxygen and pH data for the H-522 Plus data collection platform (dcp). The water quality sensors are immersed in a flow-through chamber that is plumbed to the discharge pipe of the turbine pump for the well. The pump is operated continuously, with only minor, sporadic interuptions. The dcp records on 1-hour intervals and transmit the data on 1-hour intervals. The water quality monitoring meter and the dcp are housed in a white fiberglass structure, 3.5' X 2' X 2.5' dimensions. At this time, National Water-Quality Assessment-Enhanced Trend Network (NAWQA-ETN) sampling is being performed six times per water year.
WATER-QUALITY RECORDS
WELL CHARACTERISTICS - Depth 624 ft. Upper casing diameter 30 in; top of first opening 520 ft, bottom of last opening 624 ft.
DATUM - Land-surface datum is 320 ft above National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929. Measuring point: Undefined. This turbine pumped well water level can only be measured by way of airline. The airline length is 225 ft. and the measuring point (mp) is at the airline gauge which is 2.10 ft. above land surface.
PERIOD OF RECORD - NAQWA-ETN sampling began August 22, 2013. Water quality data collection began September 26, 2013 to current year.
PERIOD OF DAILY RECORD -
SPECIFIC CONDUCTANCE: September 2013 to current year.
pH: September 2013 to current year.
WATER TEMPERATURE: September 2013 to current year.
DISSOLVED OXYGEN: September 2013 to current year.
REMARKS - During data collection for NAWQA-ETN the well is pumping continuously and most water level measurements reflect pumping levels. Static water level measurements may be made when the well is not pumping if possible. Ambient air temperatures at the well head moderately impact the recorded water temperature of the water quality monitor in the flow-through chamber.
