LOCATION - Lat 41°22'07", long 72°12'08" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, New London County, CT, Hydrologic Unit 01100003, on left bank approximately 250 ft. south of Interstate 95 North.
DRAINAGE AREA - 17.6 mi².
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - Discharge: Sep. 16, 2008 to Sep. 30, 2012; July 1, 2014 to Sep. 30, 2015 (discontinued); Jan. 24, 2020 to Apr. 30, 2023. June 2005 and Aug. 2008, discharge measurements only.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder and crest-stage gage. Datum of gage is 16.20 ft above North American Vertical Datum of 1988. Prior to January 2020 gage datum was reported as 25 ft above National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929, from topographic map. Satellite telemetry at station.
COOPERATION - CT Dept. of Energy and Environmental Protection.

Water Year 2021 - 2023: Records good except those below 10 ft³/s and for periods of estimated discharge, which are fair.
Water Year 2020: Records good except those below 10 ft³/s, which are fair.
Water Year 2014 - 2015: Records good except those for periods of estimated daily discharges, which are fair.

EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD -

The maximum discharge for the period of active record was 1850 ft³/s on Mar. 30, 2010.  Its possible that there could have been higher peaks during periods when the gage was not in operation.

The lowest daily mean of 0.51 ft³/s occurred on Aug. 16, 2022 but may have been lower during periods of missing record, Aug. 9-13, 2010 and Sep. 25-26, 2010.; the instantaneous low flow of 0.30 ft³/s occurred on Aug. 1, 2022 but may have been lower during periods of missing record, Aug. 9-13, 2010 and Sep. 25-26, 2010.
