LOCATION - Lat 43°08'15", long 72°29'19" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Windham County, VT, Hydrologic Unit 01080107, on right bank 130 ft upstream from covered bridge, 0.8 mi east of Saxtons River, 1.4 mi upstream from Bundy Brook, and 3.9 mi upstream from mouth.
DRAINAGE AREA - 72.2 mi².
REVISIONS HISTORY - Datum of gage was revised on Sep 20, 2022 from 395.51 ft above NGVD of 1929 to 395.63 ft above NAVD of 1988.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - Discharge records: June 1940 to September 1982, June 2001 to October 2022 (discontinued).
GAGE - Water-stage recorder and crest-stage gage. Datum of gage is 395.63 ft above North American Vertical Datum of 1988.

REMARKS - WATER YEARS 2014-20: Records good except those for estimated discharges, which are poor. WATER YEARS 2021-22: Records fair except those for estimated discharges, which are poor. Occasional diurnal fluctuation at low flow prior to 1962; fluctuation more frequent prior to 1946.
EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum stage since at least 1869, 17.9 ft in September 1938, from floodmarks (discharge not determined).
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge, 21,600 ft³/s, August 28, 2011, gage height 19.58 ft, from rating curve extended above 2,300 ft³/s on basis of slope-area measurements of peak flow at gage heights 10.51 ft, 11.37 ft, 13.26 ft, and 19.58 ft, and contracted-opening measurement of peak flow at gage height 19.58 ft. Instantaneous low flow, 1.9 ft³/s, July 25, 1949.
