LOCATION - Lat 41°26'08.19", long 72°46'46.17" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, New Haven County, CT, Hydrologic Unit 01100004, on west bank 200 feet below Mackenzie Reservoir Dam, 0.1 mi upstream from bridge on Northford Rd. in East Wallingford.

DRAINAGE AREA - 8.88 mi².

Revisions: Periods of discharge from Feb. 1, 2008 to Dec. 25, 2020, were revised in Jan. 2022, based on changes to the high end of the stage-discharge ratings.

REMARKS - The natural flow of Muddy River has been altered by flow diversion for municipal supply of Wallingford, CT. Flow regulated by Mackenzie Reservoir directly upstream.

Water Year 2019: Records good except for periods of flows below 1.0 ft³/s, which are poor, and estimated flows above 500 ft³/s, which are fair.

Water Year 2017: Records good except for periods of flows below 1.0 ft³/s and periods of estimated discharges, which are poor.

Water Year 2016: Records fair except for periods of flows below 1.0 ft³/s, which are poor.
