LOCATION - Lat 39°48'43", long 78°43'00" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Bedford County, PA, Hydrologic Unit 02070002, on left bank 150 ft upstream from county highway bridge, 150 ft downstream from Pennsylvania Railroad bridge, 0.35 mi downstream from Little Wills Creek, and 0.5 mi south of Hyndman.
DRAINAGE AREA - 146 mi².
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - June 1951 to September 1967, October 1967 to September 1986 (operated as a crest-stage partial-record station, annual maximum only), October 1982 to September 1991 (occasional low-flow measurements), April 2002 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder and crest-stage gage. Datum of gage is 893.37 ft above National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929 (Pennsylvania Railroad Benchmark). Satellite and landline telemetry at station.
COOPERATION - Station established and maintained by the U.S. Geological Survey. Funding for the operation of this station is provided by the U.S. Geological Survey.
REMARKS - Records for water years 2014-2016 are good except those for discharges greater than 500 ft³/s, which are fair, those for discharges less than 10 ft³/s, and those for estimated daily discharges, which are poor. Records for water year 2017 are good except those for discharges greater than 500 ft³/s, which are fair, and estimated discharge, which is poor. Records for water years 2018-2019 are good except for discharges greater than 5000 ft³/s, which are fair, and estimated discharge, which is poor. Records for water years 2020-2023 are fair except for discharges greater than 5000 ft³/s and estimated discharge, which are poor.
