GAGE - Water-stage recorder. The datum of the gage is 255.7 ft above NAVD88 NAD83(2011) Geoid 18 with an uncertainty of 0.5 ft. The datum was determined from two separate static GNSS observations over TBM-1 on September 19, 2019 and October 3, 2019. The difference between the two observations was 0.39 ft. Higher accuracy GNSS is not able to be maintained due to obstructions present at the site. Datum was previously reported as 256.60 ft above NGVD29. This datum was provided by the USACE. Prior to November 19, 1927, datum of gage was 1.30 ft higher. Satellite telemetry at station.
REMARKS - Flow regulated by Lake Michie (station 02086490). No flow occurs at times most years. Gage-height records are generally good. Discharge records are generally fair except for estimated discharges, which are poor. Additional details on the accuracy of the records can be obtained by contacting the USGS South Atlantic Water Science Center at gs-w-nc_nwisweb_data_inquiries@usgs.gov.
