LOCATION - Lat 35°13'51", long 77°06'50" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Craven County, NC, Hydrologic Unit 03020202, at downstream side of bridge on North Carolina Highway 43, 5 mi upstream from mouth, 2 mi upstream from Little Fisher Creek, and 1.3 mi north-northeast of Streets Ferry.
DRAINAGE AREA - 269 mi².
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - Discharge: July 1996 to June 2008 (discontinued). Gage height: July 1996 to June 2009; March 2010 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage 1.1 ft below NAVD88 NAD83(2011). Satellite telemetry at streamgage.
Historical: The previous datum was 0 ft above NGVD29 Supplemental Adjustment of 1936.
REMARKS - This site is strongly affected by both astronomical and wind tides. The astronomical tides occur at primary harmonic periods of 12.42 hours and 24.8 hours. Gage-height records are generally good.
