REMARKS -

Considerable regulation caused by W. Kerr Scott Reservoir 500 ft. upstream.

Gage-height records are generally good. Discharge records are generally fair except for estimated discharges, which are poor.  Additional details on the accuracy of the records can be obtained by contacting the USGS South Atlantic Water Science Center at gs-w-nc_nwisweb_data_inquiries@usgs.gov.

EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum instantaneous discharge, 5820 cfs, Feb 14, 2008. Maximum instantaneous gage height, 9.28 ft, Feb 14, 2008. Minimum daily mean discharge, 73.1 cfs, May 17, 2018, during normal regulation. There were two periods during the 2018 Water Year, June and July, when there were extreme circumstances which caused regulation to fall below current rating and a Minimum Daily mean discharge could not be determined. There was one period in the 2019 water year, 10 Apr 2019, when dam was closed for maintenance causing gage height to fall below current rating and discharge was estimated based on measurements taken at this time. Gage height was 0.16 ft and estimated discharge was 1.92 cfs.
