LOCATION - Lat 34°10'22", long 81°54'12.5" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Greenwood County, SC, Hydrologic Unit 03050109, at upstream end of dam on Saluda River, 0.7 mi upstream from Wilson Creek and 2.4 mi west of Chappells.
DRAINAGE AREA - 1,170 mi².
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - May 1940 to current year.
GAGE - Data collection platform. Datum of gage is NGVD of 1929 (levels by Dan T. Duncan Engineering Co.). Prior to June 11, 1940, nonrecording gage at same site and datum.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum elevation, 442.02 ft Mar. 5, 1952; minimum elevation since normal reservoir levels were first reached, 424.42 ft, Oct. 16, 1947. Prior to October 2005, midnight readings and month-end and annual contents were published.
