02223110 BUFFALO CREEK AT GA 272, NEAR OCONEE, GA

LOCATION - Lat 32°53'30", long 82°57'41.5" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Washington County, GA, Hydrologic Unit 03070102, on downstream side of bridge on GA Highway 272, 2.4 miles downstream from Lamars Creek, and 2.5 miles north of Oconee, and 3.7 miles above mouth.

DRAINAGE AREA - 291 mi².

SURFACE-WATER RECORDS

PERIOD OF RECORD -
DISCHARGE: February 1993 to September 1996, May 2009 to current year.
GAGE HEIGHT: May 2009 to current year.

GAGE - Satellite telemetry with a water stage recorder. Datum of gage is 190.8 feet above North American Vertical Datum (NAVD) of 1988 (levels by Georgia Power Company).

COOPERATION - Georgia Department of Natural Resources, Environmental Protection Division (GAEPD).

REMARKS - Gage-height records are generally good. Discharge records are generally fair except for estimated discharges, which are poor. Periods of monthly discharge only are not included in statistics computations.

EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge, 7,540 cfs, from rating curve extended above 1,300 cfs, February 19, 1995; maximum gage height recorded, 15.83 feet, February 19, 1995; minimum daily discharge, 0.73 cfs, October 05, 2019.

CLIMATOLOGICAL RECORDS
