LOCATION - Lat 30°28'56", long 83°14'35" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in SW 1/4 sec.17, T.1 N., R.11 E., Hamilton County, FL, Hydrologic Unit 03110203, near center of span on downstream side of bridge on State Highway 6, 10.2 mi east of Madison, and 12 mi upstream from mouth.
DRAINAGE AREA - 2,240 mi².
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - 1960, 1977, 1984 (miscellaneous discharge measurements), October 1964 to September 1972 and November 1975 to September 1984 (annual maximum discharge and gage height), November 2004 to September 2018, October 2018 to current year (discharge measurements only). 
GAGE - Water-stage recorder and data-collection platform. Datum of gage is National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929. Prior to 1984, non recording and crest-stage gage at same site and datum.
COOPERATION - This gage is monitored in cooperation with the Suwannee River Water Management District.
