LOCATION - Lat 34°14'08", long 88°41'45" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, in NE 1/4 NW 1/4 sec.08, T.10 S., R.6 E., Lee County, MS, Hydrologic Unit 03160102, Chickasaw Meridian, on Eason Blvd. in Tupelo, 400 ft upstream from Kings Creek and 2.0 mi upstream from the mouth.
DRAINAGE AREA - 233 mi². including Kings Creek which flows into Town Creek 350 feet downstream of the gage.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - 2004 to 2013 operated as a crest stage gage; 1971 to 2003, Sept 2013 - current year operated as a continuous-record gaging station.
GAGE - Water stage recorder and satellite telemeter at station. Datum of gage is 233.523 above NAVD of 1988 (Reference Frame NAD_83 (2011) (EPOCH:2010.0000) GEOID18).  Prior to October 05, 2023 the datum of gage was 230.00 ft. above NGVD of 1929.
REMARKS - Record good except for periods of estimated data which are considered poor.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge, 37,900 ft³/s, May 27, 1991, maximum gage height, 27.80 ft, May 27, 1991.
