LOCATION - Lat 31°25'33", long 89°24'53" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, in NW 1/4 NW 1/4 SW 1/4 sec.04, T.5 N., R.14 W., Forrest County, MS, Hydrologic Unit 03170004, St. Stephens Meridian, on the downstream side of the upstream bridge of dual bridges on U.S. Highway 49, 1.0 mi upstream from Okatoma Creek, 2.2 mi southwest of Lux, 10.2 mi northwest of Hattiesburg, and 16.12 mi upstream from mouth.
DRAINAGE AREA - 304 mi².
REVISIONS HISTORY - WSP 1906: 1943(M).
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - September 1938 to current year. Prior to October 1989, published as Bowie Creek near Hattiesburg.

Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is 159.65 ft above NAVD of 1988, (Reference Frame NAD_83 (2011) (EPOCH:2010.0000), (GEOID18).

Prior to August 23, 2022, datum of Gage was 160.04 ft above NGVD of 1929 (levels by U. S. Army Corps of Engineers). Prior to Dec. 8, 1938, nonrecording gage at same site and datum.
