LOCATION - Lat 41°50'38", long 79°09'00" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Warren County, PA, Hydrologic Unit 05010002, on right bank at downstream end of municipal parking lot on Liberty Street at Warren, PA, 1,400 ft downstream from confluence of Conewango Creek, and at river mile 188.7.
DRAINAGE AREA - 3,131 mi².

SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - 1988-94 operated as a continuous-record discharge station, 1995 to 2013 operated as an annual peak station, 2014 to current year continuous-record discharge station.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder and crest-stage gage. Datum of gage is 1,168.0 ft above North American Vertical Datum of 1988 and 1,168.6 ft above National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929. Satellite telemetry at station.  Prior to November 10, 2022 the datum of gage was reported as 1,169.04 ft above NGVD29.
COOPERATION - Station established and maintained by the U.S. Geological Survey in cooperation with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Pittsburgh District.
REMARKS - Discharge affected by regulation from Allegheny Reservoir 8.7 miles upstream. Records are good except those for estimated daily discharges, which are poor.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Discharge, 33,700 ft³/s, gage height, 11.89 ft, Mar 12, 2011.
