03092460 West Branch Mahoning River at Wayland, OH
LOCATION - Lat 41°09'25", long 81°04'19" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Portage County, OH, Hydrologic Unit 05030103, on the right bank 200 ft upstream from the highway bridge on County Rd. 132, 0.3 mi south of Wayland, 0.4 mi below Michael J. Kirwan Dam.
DRAINAGE AREA - 81.7 mi².
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - October 1968 to September 1991. Prior to Oct. 1969 published as "West Br. Mahoning River bel West Br. Dam at Wayland". October 2009 to current year.
GAGE - Water stage recorder. Datum of gage is 925.83 ft (NAVD 1988). Prior to Oct. 1, 2010 datum of gage was published as 926.44 ft (NGVD 1929) (levels by U.S. Army Corps of Engineers). Prior to October 1971 at datum 927.33 ft (NGVD 1929).
COOPERATION - Station maintained in cooperation with U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Pittsburgh District.
REMARKS - Oct. 1, 2013 to Nov. 29, 2017: records fair, except for estimated records which are poor.  Nov. 29, 2017 to Nov. 13, 2018: Discharge records are fair.  Nov. 13, 2018 to Oct. 22, 2019, records are fair.  Flow regulated by a reservoir. Water temperature data collected at this site. WATER TEMPERATURE: Oct. 1, 2013 to Oct. 19, 2017: records good except Feb. 2, 2014 to May 28, 2014, July 23, 2014 to Nov. 25, 2014, Apr. 19, 2016, Oct. 13, 2016, and Nov. 17, 2016, which are fair.  Oct. 19, 2017 to Nov. 13, 2018, records are good.  Nov. 13, 2018 to Oct. 22, 2019, records are good.  Record quality ratings will not be included in the water-year summary for approved records newer than 10/22/2019.
