LOCATION - Lat 37°18'20", long 80°51'00" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Giles County, VA, Hydrologic Unit 05050002, on right bank at downstream side of bridge on State Highway 724, 2.8 mi southwest of Narrows, and at mile 3.5.
DRAINAGE AREA - 223 mi².
REVISIONS HISTORY - WSP 973: 1940-41(M). WSP 1235: 1912-13, 1915-16. WSP 1505: 1940, monthly and yearly runoff. WSP 1725: 1913(M), 1915-16(M), 1941 calendar year runoff.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS

GAGE - Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is 1,586.44 ft NAVD of 1988. July 22, 1908, to Sept. 30, 1916, and Mar. 31 to Nov. 7, 1938, nonrecording gage, at present site and datum.
REMARKS - U.S. Army Corps of Engineers satellite gage-height telemeter at station. Maximum discharge, 16,100 ft 3/s, from rating curve extended above 5,700 ft³/s on basis of contracted-opening measurement at gage height 13.95 ft.
