LOCATION - Lat 40°12'52", long 84°14'39" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Shelby County, OH, Hydrologic Unit 05080001, on left bank at upstream side of Lockington Dam, 200 ft upstream of dam conduits, 0.7 mi northwest of Lockington and at river mile 2.1.
DRAINAGE AREA - 257 mi².
REVISIONS HISTORY - WSP 923: 1916. WSP 1908: Drainage area.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - October 1915 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder and concrete control. Datum of gage is 875.22 ft (NAVD 1988). Prior to July 3, 1924, nonrecording gage at datum 875.99 ft (1912 adjustment). July 3, 1924 to Aug. 17, 1926, nonrecording gage, Aug. 18, 1926 to Sept. 30, 1926, water-stage recorder, at datum 874.99 ft (1912 adjustment). Oct. 1, 1926 to Feb. 1, 2006, at datum 800.03 ft (1912 adjustment). Prior to Feb. 1, 2006 at site 1300 ft downstream. Feb. 1, 2006 to Sept. 30, 2010, at datum 876.00 ft (1912 adjustment).

Discharge records fair for the 2014 water year except for estimated records, which are poor. Oct. 1, 2014 to Mar. 10, 2015: discharge records fair except for estimated records, which are poor. Mar. 11, 2015 to June 15, 2015: discharge records good. June 16, 2015 to Oct. 18, 2015: discharge records fair except for estimated records, which are poor. Oct. 19, 2015 to Oct. 31, 2016: discharge records fair except for estimated records, which are poor. Nov. 1, 2016 to Nov. 9, 2017: discharge records fair except for estimated daily discharges, which are poor. Nov. 10, 2017 to Aug. 13, 2018: discharge records good except for estimated daily discharges, which are poor. Aug. 14, 2018 to Dec. 6, 2018: discharge records poor.

Flood flow regulated by Lockington retarding basin beginning in 1921. Low and medium flow slightly regulated by Lake Loramie 18 mi upstream, capacity, 13,000 acre-ft. Stage affected by backwater from Lockington Dam.

EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD - Flood of Mar. 25, 1913, reached a stage of 15.6 ft, at datum 875.99 ft COE 1912; discharge, 25,600 ft³/s, at site upstream from Turtle Creek, drainage area, 211 mi², computed by Miami Conservancy District.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge, 10,400 ft³/s May 7, 1916, gage height, 10.4 ft, at datum 875.99 ft COE 1912, from rating curve extended above 5,400 ft³/s.
