LOCATION - Lat 40°06'08", long 84°25'48" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Darke County, OH, Hydrologic Unit 05080001, on left bank at downstream side of bridge on State Highway 721, 0.8 mi downstream from small left bank tributary, 1.8 mi south of Bradford, and 6 mi upstream from mouth.

DRAINAGE AREA - 193 mi².

SURFACE-WATER RECORDS

PERIOD OF RECORD - October 1930 to September 2000; October 2000 to September 2002, recording crest-stage gage; October 2002 to current year.

GAGE - Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is 948.38 ft (NAVD 1988). Prior to Oct. 1, 1942, nonrecording gage at datum 948.9 ft (1912 adjustment). Oct. 1, 1942 to Apr. 5, 1962 and from Nov. 14, 1963 to Sept. 30, 2013, at same site and datum. Apr. 6, 1962 to Nov. 13, 1963, at site 200 ft downstream at same datum. At present datum since Oct. 1, 2013.

REMARKS - Discharge records fair for the 2014 water year except for estimated records, which are poor. Oct. 1, 2014 to Dec. 8, 2014: discharge records fair except for estimated records, which are poor. Dec. 9, 2014 to Oct. 19, 2015: discharge records good except for estimated records, which are poor. Oct. 20, 2015 to Oct. 23, 2016: discharge records good except for estimated records, which are poor. Oct. 24, 2016 to Nov. 6, 2017, discharge records rated good except for estimated discharges which are poor. Nov. 6, 2017 to June 4, 2018: discharge records fair except for estimated daily discharges, which are poor. June 4, 2018 to Nov. 2, 2018: discharge record good. Record quality ratings will not be included in the water-year summary for approved records newer than 09/30/2019. Record quality is still being rated internally. Some diurnal fluctuation caused by upstream mill; daily flows are not affected appreciably. Sediment data formerly collected at this site.

EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD - Flood in March 1913 reached a stage of 12.1 ft; discharge, 18,200 ft³/s, at site with drainage area of 213 mi², computed by Miami Conservancy District.
