LOCATION - Lat 36°53'43", long 86°22'50" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Warren County, KY, Hydrologic Unit 05110002, near right bank at downstream side of pier of bridge on U.S. Hwy 231, 2.1 miles northwest of Alvaton, and 5.3 miles downstream from Trammel Fork.
DRAINAGE AREA - 478 mi² of which 120 mi² probably is noncontributing.  
REVISIONS HISTORY - WSP 1003: 1943. WSP 1113: 1940(M), 1942(M), 1944-45(M). WSP 1505: Drainage area.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - October 1939 to September 1971, October 2009 to current year. Monthly discharge only for October 1939, published in WSP 1305.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder with telemetry. Datum is 441.60 feet above NAVD of 1988 and 442.02 ft above NGVD of 1929.  Prior to December 1940, non-recording gage at same site and datum.  December 19, 1940 to September 30, 1963, water-stage recorder 0.5 mile upstream at datum 1.05 feet higher.
COOPERATION - Kentucky Energy and Environment Cabinet and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Louisville District.
REMARKS - Minor diversions for water supply and mining operations.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge, 113,000 ft³/s, gage-height, 42.12 feet, May 3, 2010; minimum discharge, 9.0 ft³/s, gage-height, 2.79 feet, September 28, 1941 (former site and datum).
