LOCATION - Lat 38°21'48", long 88°35'16" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, in NW 1/4 NW 1/4 SW 1/4 sec.7, T.2 S., R.6 E., Wayne County, IL, Hydrologic Unit 05120115, on left bank downstream side of State Highway 15 bridge, 0.4 miles upstream from Shoe Creek, 1.5 miles upstream from railroad bridge, 1.2 miles north of Wayne City, and at mile 42.4.
DRAINAGE AREA - 464 mi².
REVISIONS HISTORY - WSP 1143: 1947-48. WSP 1205: 1918-21, 1929-31, 1937-39. WSP 1335: 1908-13, 1916(M), 1930-34, 1935(M). WSP 1725: Drainage area.
Revisions: Gage datum was updated to 382.49 ft NAVD88 on Dec. 19, 2023, based on a GNSS Level II survey using GEOID18.

Prior to Sept. 30, 1921, nonrecording gage at site 1.5 mi downstream at a datum of 380.15 ft NGVD of 1929. June 11, 1928 to Oct. 4, 1939; nonrecording gage at current site at a datum of 380.35 ft NGVD of 1929. Oct. 5, 1939 to June 2, 2011; recording gage at site 0.5 miles downstream at a datum of 383.15 ft NGVD of 1929.
REMARKS - Flows from Shoe Creek are included in discharges. Accuracy of records is discussed in the annual Station Analysis archived at the USGS IL Water Science Center.
