03544970 HIAWASSEE RIVER AT RIVERSIDE DRIVE, NR HIAWASSEE, GA
LOCATION - Lat 34°53'01.0", long 83°43'20.3" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Towns County, GA, Hydrologic Unit 06020002, one mile below the confluence with Owl Creek and four miles above the confluence with Hightower Creek near the upper end of Chatuge Lake.
DRAINAGE AREA - 39.5 mi².
REVISIONS HISTORY -

Gage datum was revised on May 12, 2022 based on an error in the determination of the gage datum.

SURFACE-WATER RECORDS

DISCHARGE: September 2007 to current year.
GAGE HEIGHT: September 2007 to current year.
GAGE - Satellite telemetry with a water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is 1,965.50 feet above North American Vertical Datum (NAVD) of 1988.
COOPERATION - City of Hiwassee.
REMARKS - Gage-height records are generally fair. Discharge records are generally fair except for estimated discharges, which are poor.  Additional details on the accuracy of the records can be obtained by contacting the USGS South Atlantic Water Science Center at gs-w-ga_nwisweb_data_inquiries@usgs.gov.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge recorded, 2,960 cfs, May 30, 2018; maximum gage-height recorded, 11.22 feet,  May 30, 2018; minimum daily discharge, 13.7 cfs, September 29, 2007.
