LOCATION - Lat 34°50'31", long 83°56'09" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Union County, GA, Hydrologic Unit 06020002, 0.2 miles upstream from Akins Creek, 2.7 miles southeast of Blairsville, 0.3 miles west of US 19.
DRAINAGE AREA - 74.8 mi².
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD -
DISCHARGE: January 1942 to March 1982, October 1985 to December 2007 (discrete discharge measurements only), December 2007 to current year.
GAGE HEIGHT: December 2007 to current year.
GAGE - Satellite telemetry with a water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is 1810.49 feet above the North American Vertical Datum (NAVD) of 1988. Prior to December 2007, staff gage at site 200 feet upstream at datum of 1812.49 feet at National Geodetic Vertical Datum (NGVD) of 1929.
COOPERATION - City of Blairsville.
REMARKS - Gage-height records are generally fair. Discharge records are generally fair except for estimated discharges and and discharges above 1000 cfs, which are poor.
