LOCATION - Lat 34°41'50", long 86°42'00" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Madison County, AL, Hydrologic Unit 06030002, on downstream side of bridge on State Highway 20, 0.3 mi downstream from Southern Railroad bridge, 2.8 mi east of Madison, and 5.8 mi upstream from mouth.
DRAINAGE AREA - 49 mi².
REVISIONS HISTORY - WSP 1910: 1960.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - October 1959 to September 1966, October 1966 to September 1972 (peak discharge only), October 1972 to September 1975 (flood-hydrograph only), October 1975 to June 2002 (daily discharge), October 2002 to September 2013 (flood-hydrograph only). October 2013 to September 2021 (flood-hydrograph only). October 2021 to October 2022 (discharge). October 2022 to present (flood-hydrograph only). Prior to October 1972, published as 03576100, Indian Creek near Madison. 
GAGE - Station consisting of permanent-record rainfall, continuous-record stage, and discharge.  Datum of gage is 601.36 ft above NAVD of 1988, (Reference Frame NAD_83 (2011) (EPOCH:2010.0000) GEOID18).  Prior to December 06, 2023 the datum of gage was determined to be 601.448 ft NAVD1988.  However, this datum was never submitted to the MLR.  Prior to that the Datum of gage was 601.32 ft above NGVD 1929.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - The flood of March 16, 1973 reached a gage height of 12.70 ft, discharge, 16,500 ft³/s.
CLIMATOLOGICAL RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - Oct. 1, 1971 to Sept. 30, 1974, Oct. 31, 1991 to Sept. 19, 1996, Jul. 30, 2002 to current year.
INSTRUMENTATION - Tipping bucket precipitation gage (permanent-record rainfall) and data logger.
