  • Water-Year Summary reports summarize a year of hydrologic data in a printer-friendly format.
  • For water years 2014 onward, choose a water year and parameter and an on-demand Water-Year Summary report will be generated.
  • For water years 2006 through 2013, choose a water year and an Annual Water Data Report will be provided.
  • For water years 2005 and earlier, Annual Water Data Reports may be available in digital format.
  • Not all sites have reports available for every water year.

LOCATION - Lat 44°22'19", long 88°05'32" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, in NE 1/4 NE 1/4 sec.20, T.22 N., R.20 E., Brown County, WI, Hydrologic Unit 04030204, on left bank, downstream side of bridge on County Trunk ZZ, 4.0 mi north of Greenleaf.
DRAINAGE AREA - 44.8 mi².
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - January 2012 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder and Crest stage gage. Elevation of gage is 620 ft. above NAVD of 1988, from topographic map.
REMARKS - Records are considered good except for estimated discharges and discharges below 2 cfs, which are poor. For records status prior to October 1, 2013, see remarks printed in annual water-data reports. Gage-height telemeter at station.
CLIMATOLOGICAL RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - January 2012 to current year.
INSTRUMENTATION - Tipping bucket rain gage with electronic datalogger.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum daily rainfall, 2.32in., Aug 9, 2012.
EXTREMES FOR CURRENT YEAR - Maximum daily rainfall, 1.66in., 12/13/2015.
REMARKS - Calibration checks were made on 9/14/2016 and 04/25/2017. A Nova-Lynx rain gage calibrator (946 ml) with the smallest nozzle size was used to determine accuracy of the rain gage. Calibration takes approximately 40 minutes, with an expected rainfall amount of 1.15”, for an average rate of 1.7” per hour. The 9/14/2016 calibration check yielded 1.17" (1.1% high). The 04/25/2017 check yielded 1.18” (2.6% high). No data corrections were made. All calibrations were removed from the precipitation record. Snowfall/ice that melts in the funnel is interpreted as snow melt and is removed from the record and shown as estimated days. Those days interpreted as snow melt include December 5, 6, 7, 20, 24 and 25, January 10, February 12, 26 and 27, March 2, 4, 14, 15. December 25 and January 10 were a combination of rain and snowmelt. Air temperature and solar radiation from a weather station at GLRI site ESW3 and time lapse photos were used to determine snowmelt vs rainfall tips.
WATER-QUALITY RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - January 2012 to current year.
PERIOD OF DAILY RECORD - Suspended Sediment Discharge(tons/day): January 2012 to current year. Chloride Discharge (tons/day): January 2012 to current year. Nitrate + Nitrite Discharge (lbs/day): January 2012 to current year. Ammonium Discharge (lbs/day): January 2012 to current year. Total Kjeldahl Nitrogen Discharge (lbs/day): January 2012 to current year. Orthophosphorus Discharge (lbs/day): January 2012 to current year. Total Phosphorus Discharge (lbs/day): January 2012 to current year.
INSTRUMENTATION - An automatic twenty four bottle peristaltic pump refrigerated sampler. YSI EXO2, SUNA V2 nitrate sensor and CycleP04 phosphate sensor all located within flow through chamber.
REMARKS - Chemical analyses are by the Wisconsin Water and Environmental Analysis Lab.
